Village cottage garden makeover
This garden makeover came to us on an extremely tight budget. The rear garden was overshadowed by a huge neighbouring conifer hedge, making the garden feel even darker and more dismal. The family also own dogs, one of which got particularly stressed by noises in the background and used the garden as a rat run to expel its nervous energy.
We cleared and levelled the top tier and formed 2 new sets of steps at either end of the garden. Then we formed a meandering path of recycled rubber stepping stones flanked with a warm, light shade of gravel, with focal points along the way, such as a circular compass patio and a stainless steel sphere water feature, with tactile plants dotted along the way. All of this was designed to help calm the dogs and create a more relaxing atmosphere, which worked straight away.
The clients were delighted with the result, especially with staying within budget and the enormous hedge has now been trimmed to a reasonable height, so a double bonus!

We are so pleased with our garden makeover, it has totally transformed the garden into an area that is relaxing and interesting and it draws you to spend time in it! The dogs love it too.
Jane had amazing ideas that we would never have thought of! She and her team were very friendly, professional, hard working and really cared about the finished job. Really loved the illustrated paper plans and future ideas that Jane came up with too. Highly recommend, wouldn’t go anywhere else now!
