Vale of Belvoir Country House
This garden design has all the hard landscaping finished and we’ve gradually been planting shrubs and perennials. The owners have bought a paddock of nearby landowners, which will greatly add to the footprint of the garden. Rigorous planning rules have to be adhered to. As part of the planning application, I had to create a 3D visual of the ideas, shown in the image below. The site slopes quite steeply and unevenly, so it’s been an exciting challenge, and we’ve worked with the land contours rather than attempt to change it dramatically. At the end of the day, the property is in a conservation village and we have to respect this! Deep steel curved retaining banks are being positioned and I can see the curves and contours starting to take shape. It’s very exciting! It was very important to deal with the steep slopes and make them safe to navigate for young children. Planting images will follow.
