Suburban detached house
This suburban garden project has been an amazing experience for me. First because it’s been the first garden design project that I’ve seen through from conception to completion. It was a small ‘normal’ suburban garden which badly needed a re-vamp. It had a very traditional look previously, with your average lawn and borders and a small patio. The client gave me a free rein, but had very clear tastes, such as ‘minimal’ and ‘a no fuss upkeep’. So, I incorporated an artificial grass ‘serpentine’ path leading to a sunny seating area. Artificial grass can be quite expensive in comparison to real turf, so I was extremely mindful when planning this shape so that we could make full use of the area of grass that we ordered. The rest of the garden is a blend of gravel, paving and pathways, all harmoniously united with only three hard landscaping materials… gravel, slabs and concrete wood effect sleepers by Bradstone.
The hard landscaping was contracted to Cassey Landscapes who were brilliant in their understanding of the brief and also in their amazing conscientious and professional approach to the care and attention of undertaking the work and also in looking after the property and surroundings.
“All I knew was that I wanted a low maintenance garden, which meant a complete re-design. With an eye for every detail, Jane came up with the perfect design which was modern and imaginative.
My garden definitely has the wow factor now. I would have no hesitation in recommending Jane for her designs.”
