Country house in the Vale of Belvoir
This garden renovation followed on from a garden room house extension and bridges the gap between this and an existing annex, to form a union between the two. The old garden was a tired lawn with no purpose. The brief was to make an exciting, social space to lounge, entertain and relax in, with a low maintenance feel, yet at the same time, softening the edges with gentle planting.
Hard landscaping materials for this garden were supplied by Hercocks in Melton Mowbray and plants came from a variety of sources, some from Old Hall Nurseries. The grey slabs used were Brett Eclipse porcelain slabs edged with granite setts.
A water feature was also installed with a wide letterbox waterfall style on a grey slate wall, tumbling into a shallow square pool edged with sleepers, which complimented the overall theme the design, bridging the gap from hard landscaping to the soft planted areas.
Specimen bay trees were strategically placed to avoid blocking the view from the house by being placed equidistance in between windows. These were neatly framed with corten steel circles and infilled with a contrasting tone of gravel.

“Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value. Working with Jane is like going on an exciting adventure. Our first consultation included a questionnaire which highlighted what colours, textures etc we were looking to incorporate in our garden, so very thorough, when Jane left we could not wait for her to come back with her ideas.
When Jane presented us with her vision, not just one but 3 of them, we were bowled over, all the things we had talked about and so much more, we felt comfortable to make a few little tweaks which Jane encouraged our feedback and made us feel that there was complete flexibility throughout, we decided on the design and Jane returned with a mood board and a plant list.
Over the weeks the garden began to take shape and when we faced a few little challenges, Jane took away any concerns and gave us the confidence that all would be well and indeed it was! We cannot thank Jane enough she has been incredible, and our amazing space has turned into an extension of our house, we cannot wait for the summer to come along and we can spend many a day/evening enjoying what has been created for us with our family and friends!
Jane thank you so much for all your hard work, your determination and your amazing ability to understand what we wanted when we did not.”
